Looking to visit multiple North Georgia waterfalls in one day? This is one of our favorite day-trip loops! This drive through the mountains traverses some of Georgia's most stunning mountain peaks, winds through beautiful backroads, and takes you to three of our favorite quick waterfall hikes. This journey starts just north of Helen, where you'll hop onto "Richard B. Russell Scenic Hwy" and head northwest towards Hogpen Gap. Followed with a trip over to Helton Creek Falls, just be aware that Hatchet Creek Rd is gravel with two creek crossings if you approach the falls from the East. But there is an easier approach from 129/ Blood Mountain if you'd like to make the stop. We then crossed over Blood Mountain to visit Desoto Falls, which is another great short waterfall hike. This hike offers both an upper and lower falls which are split from the trailhead, so you can choose to do either one, or both! From Desoto Falls, we continued southwest over to Dick's Creek Falls/Water's Creek falls. (The name changes depending on who you ask) This is another great roadside spot with a beautiful falls and a couple fishing holes. It is a very popular swimming hole in the summer, but we had it to ourselves on this early autumn morning.
