Handmade Tamales from scratch is a Classic homemade recipe that everyone loves The are tamales are perfectly soft, moist, and bursting with flavor just like my mother taught me. I hope this recipe helps you shine no matter the occasion 🤩 This is a super easy dough for tamales using instant corn flour Masa ingredients 4 cups of maseca 4 cups of chicken broth 8 Guajillo chiles 1 cup of lard For spice add 3 chiles de àrbol You can also blend with your favorite seasoning / garlic and onion. I used a seasoned chicken bouillon that has extra flavor. I also keep my tamales simple yet full of flavor to avoid tummy aches since we all eat like no one is watching 🤭 Steam tamales for 35 to 40 minutes -use filling of choice -Cover tamales with a clean kitchen towel to avoid condensation dripping into you work of art. -steaming tamales:The water at the bottom must be at least 1/2 inch below the tamales. Water should not touch any of the tamales; but have enough for steam. This will vary on the pot being used. -some families use a coin/ flatware at the bottom of the pot as reference. If you hear the metal rattle that means all your water has evaporated. Meaning if you have 20 minutes of cook time left. You’ll need to add some more water: When adding water make sure it’s boiling so it doesn’t change temperature of the cooking process. Make sure you don’t pour water over the tamales. -you can add 1/4 of a cup of lard just to make sure the tamales don’t dry out - Chicken broth mixture I used is 4 cups warm water + 3 Tbsp chicken bouillon (adjust to taste) - Soak corn husk in super hot water for a minimum of 45 minutes or over night. - This masa works with your favorite fillings #cookingfromscratch #recipes #fyp #cooking #homecooking #food #viral #EasyRecipes #tamales #dough #mexicanrecipes
