sign up for workshop today! (visit link in bio) if you want to come! You'll learn to separate your worth from your output so you can create and live without needing everything flawless first. I hope to see you soon! Perfectionists are often in a freeze trauma response and most people don't realize it. Your nervous system learned that mistakes lead to criticism, disappointment, or punishment, so it developed a strategy: if everything is perfect, no one can attack you. You don't procrastinate because you're lazy, you procrastinate because starting means risking imperfection, and imperfection in your household meant danger. You freeze by perfecting, you avoid by overanalyzing, you control by making every detail flawless before anyone sees it. What looks like high standards is actually your nervous system eliminating the possibility of criticism, because criticism in childhood didn't sound like feedback, it sounded like rejection, like love being taken away. You developed this ability to anticipate every flaw before anyone could find it, became your own harshest critic because if you beat everyone to the criticism, it couldn't surprise you. You learned your worth was conditional on output, and less than perfect meant less than lovable. Understanding perfectionism through the lens of trauma responses reframes something important. You weren't born this way, you were a child where mistakes had emotional consequences, and you adapted brilliantly. The adaptation hasn't turned off because your nervous system still believes imperfection is unsafe. You weren't born a perfectionist, you were trained to survive by being one. Let's become the first emotionally mature generation in our families. #innerchildhealing #emotionaldna #anxietyrelief #healingtiktok #HealingJourney
