Check your body regularly for new or changing spots. But, when you go to a dermatologist, make sure they use a tool when evaluating your skin, called a dermatoscope. It looks like hand held magnifier which is very bright. If they are not looking at every pink and pigmented spot, like this spot on this thigh, they may miss melanoma.
