Part 2 of taking our builder grade house and turning it into our dream home (so I stop wanting to move) Before we get into the progress, a few reflections. As we go through the project it reminds me that I don’t need a huge massive house to make it something I love. I don’t need more space, I don’t need the most expensive everything, I just need the creativity to see what it could be and to get out of my own way enough to try things and see how they go. We don’t have a mansion and our budget is about $1.37, but slowly we can make changes that remind us why we fell in love with this house initially. We saw our family gathering for thanksgiving, our dogs playing in the big back yard, and yes, we even saw ourselves doing these exact kinds of project in the future as we were able to. I’m getting excited guys! Now for the progress! Well every project has its hiccups right? But forget hiccups, we will discuss those later! THE FLOORS ARE DONE! (Well except for the fact that I decided I want different floors in the powder room now… different story for a different day). AJ did SUCH a great job! They’re the same floors we used at our tiny home and I love them here just as much ❤️. Next up is the trim! I decided that with the modern baseboards the old builder grade door trim had to go. I probably could have save AJ a massive headache had I made that decision before he carefully notched it all out as if it were staying but I’m lucky he loves me and he started pulling it all down. We bought the baseboards and the trim on 2 different Home Depot trips and didn’t realize that we had gotten the wrong door trim thickness 😬.
