Here’s exactly how I start mine: Pre-moisten your seed starting mix so it’s evenly damp, not soaking. This helps with consistent germination and good seed to soil contact. Marigold seeds are long and thin, so plant them about a quarter inch deep. Too shallow and they dry out, too deep and they struggle to emerge. I sow 2 to 3 seeds per cell, especially if my seeds aren’t brand new. Give them a warm, stable environment. Around 70 to 75°F is ideal, and you’ll usually see sprouts in under a week. Once they’re sown, add a humidity dome to hold in moisture while they germinate.
