Video Title / Captionrealizing that constantly pursuing perfectionism is (in addition to societal pressures) a way for me to ensure i never actually get where im trying to go because im afraid of what happens when i get there. the fear is that i’ll make it to the level im striving for and find that i don’t have what it takes and everyone will be watching what im seeing now and choosing to embrace is that the person i want to be and the life i want to live is not one where i am never enough and always have to prove myself worthy. worthy of inclusion, recognition or trust. nor anything else i am full of and can give to myself. the world im building for myself is one of self-trust. where i don’t suspend that trust for some elusive future, but for the right now. trusting in the choices i make by allowing presence and actually taking time and space to listen to myself. trusting in how i set the pace of my creative process and my work by noticing how certain actions feel in my body. when i practice trust in all these small ways, and truly relish in the present moment, it’s easier to imagine that i will be able to trust myself no matter the outcome. this empowers me to continue building my trust muscle and act bravely in ways that perfection could never allow. so often on a growth path we can feel like we’re not doing enough because we don’t see results that reflect our efforts. but i invite you instead of internalizing these circumstances or non-results (often random or delayed renderings of our thoughts), use those moments where you would normally push harder or strive further, to recognize how much you’re already doing. sometimes we need only look behind us to see how far the road has stretched and how far we have already come. practicing gratitude doesn’t always have to be outward facing. appreciate yourself and celebrate your progress today 🤎 loveyou #perfectionism #ceethaguide
